A guide to the New Course and facilities
Key information:
The New Course is often regarded as the oldest “new” course in the world. A classic links course with undulating fairways and delightfully challenging greens, it was set out in 1895 by Old Tom Morris.
Named the New to differentiate it from the original course at the Links which became the Old Course, the course remains one of the finest examples of Morris’ work to be found anywhere.
Built on the same type of sandy soil, there are many similarities with the more famed Old. The natural land features humps and hollows, unpredictable bounces and another array of skilfully placed deep bunkers.
6625 Yards – Par 71, the New Course is a customary out-and-back links, there are shared fairways, thick gorse bushes and a double green servicing the third and 15th holes.

- Clubhouse with Tom Morris Bar & Grill restaurant and Links Clubhouse Shop
- Practice facilities available at the St Andrews Links Academy, a short walk from the Eden Clubhouse. It has 60 flood-lit bays, 22 indoor bays, short game area and Toptracer Range.
- Showers, drying facilities, lockers
- Free parking

- Caddies are available (pre booking recommended and subject to availability). Forecaddies – only allowed on days of high demand as agreed by the Caddie Manager. On all other occasions the policy of one caddie per player applies.
- Buggies are available for golfers over the age of 65 or with a medical certificate, subject to availability and course conditions.
- Calloway golf clubs and shoes are available for hire.
- Trolley hire – no need to book. Both manual and battery available.
- Junior 50% rate offered to players aged 16 years and younger.
- Advance tee times for 2+ golfers – you can book tee times 2+ days in advance (excl. Saturdays). For ‘today’, ‘tomorrow’ and Saturdays tee times are allocated on a first come first served basis and can only be arranged by approaching the Starter on the day you want to play.
