Overview
The Links is one of 2 courses at La Hacienda Links Golf Resort.
Characterised by being the only links-type golf course in southern Europe. Inaugurated in 1992 and designed by Peter Alliss and Clive Clark.
The course was closed for an extensive renovation of the tees, greens and bunkers, opening again in 2022/3. The topography of the land at La Hacienda is formed by gentle slopes descending towards the sea, finishing on a beach, creating a front of nearly 2 km.
Offering extensive views over the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and Africa, particularly at the ‘signature’ hole #5 and at ‘Calma’, a Halfway House located between #9 and #10, with refreshments and a panoramic terrace.
Host to PGA of Andalusia (1993 and 1994), PGA of Spain (1995) and The Ryder Cup Junior Match U.S. against Europe (1997).
In 2023 the Links was voted ‘Best Golf Course in Spain’ at the 2023 World Golf Awards. ‘Top 100 Golf Courses’ ranks the course 33rd in Spain and 10th in Southern Spain.
Facilities at the resort include a Golf Academy with 72 bay driving range, a spacious practice area with 2 chipping greens, bunkers and a short game area as well as a clubhouse and pro shop.
