La Cañada Golf Club

Overview
La Canada is part of the exclusive Sotogrande residential estate, and while its close neighbours – Valderrama, La Reserva and San Roque Old & New courses – are better known, it is a municipal course much favoured by the locals and visitors alike due to its course quality and exceptional value.
Originally a 9 hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior (designer of Valderrama and Sotogrande), a second nine was added by Dave Thomas (who designed San Roque Old) in 2002.
The golf course now stands at a length of 5,866m (Par 71).
La Canada offers a great variety of holes with interesting bunkering, bermuda fairways and fast, bent grass greens of a high quality. Perhaps the best hole is the last, where an intimidating tee shot requires a carry over a large ravine, with fine views down to the Guadiaro River and the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.
Fully equipped practice facilities with a large driving range, two practice putting greens and approach area.
Staff are friendly and attentive and there’s reasonably priced food and beverages to be had in the clubhouse. It has two large terraces with panoramic views of Guadiaro River and the Mediterranean Sea.
A quality layout combined with a modest green fee makes this one of the most popular courses in the area.
